Wedelolactone is a plant-derived natural compound that acts as a potent inhibitor of IκB kinase (IKK) and caspase-11. By inhibiting IKK activity, wedelolactone prevents the phosphorylation and degradation of IκBα, thereby blocking the activation and nuclear translocation of the NF-κB signaling pathway. This disruption of NF-κB signaling leads to suppressed inflammatory responses and reduced expression of downstream pro-inflammatory mediators in cellular models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
