WAY-639889 is a bioactive compound targeting the neuropeptide Y5 receptor (NPY5R). Selective antagonism of NPY5R modulates downstream cAMP signaling and G protein-coupled signaling pathways, thereby regulating hypothalamic neuroendocrine circuits. These pathway alterations suppress neuropeptide Y-stimulated food intake, alter metabolic homeostasis, and provide a valuable molecular mechanism for studying energy balance and appetite regulation in central nervous system models.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
