VL285 is a potent ligand targeting the von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) E3 ubiquitin ligase. By binding VHL, VL285 serves as a core functional motif in proteolysis targeting chimeras, such as HaloPROTAC3, to induce targeted protein degradation of HaloTag7 fusion proteins through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Competition assays with excess VL285 inhibit HaloPROTAC-mediated degradation, demonstrating target-specific engagement and modulation of cellular protein turnover. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
