Biological Activity
VGX-1027 (GIT 27) is an orally active immunomodulatory compound that acts as an inhibitor of pro-inflammatory cytokine production. It targets immune signaling cascades to suppress lipopolysaccharide-induced expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-12 in macrophages and dendritic cells. By downregulating NF-κB and p38 MAPK pathway activation, VGX-1027 attenuates inflammatory signaling and reduces downstream immune-mediated cellular responses.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
