Veliparib dihydrochloride is an orally active poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitor targeting PARP-1 (Ki of 5.2 nM) and PARP-2 (Ki of 2.9 nM). By suppressing enzyme activity, it impairs cellular base excision repair pathways and leads to accumulated DNA strand breaks. Furthermore, Veliparib effectively crosses the blood-brain barrier and significantly potentiates the antitumor efficacy of DNA-damaging chemotherapeutic agents in preclinical tumor models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
