URB597 is a selective fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) inhibitor with an IC50 ofin brain membranes andin intact neurons. By blocking FAAH-mediated degradation of anandamide, URB597 elevates endocannabinoid levels in the central nervous system, leading to downstream activation of cannabinoid receptors. This inhibition produces significant anti-nociceptive, anxiolytic, and antidepressant-like phenotypes in vivo without evoking typical cannabinoid-like behavioral toxicity. [1][2]
