Biological Activity

UNC0321 is a potent and selective inhibitor of G9a histone methyltransferase and G9a-like protein (GLP). By blocking the enzymatic activity of G9a and GLP, UNC0321 reduces histone H3 lysine 9 dimethylation, altering gene transcription and chromatin organization. This target engagement modulates epigenetic signaling pathways, resulting in anti-apoptotic responses and cellular phenotypic changes. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
