UC2288 is a cell-permeable and orally active p21 attenuator. It decreases p21 mRNA expression independently of p53 and reduces p21 protein levels with minimal impact on protein stability. By suppressing p21-mediated cell cycle regulation, UC2288 impacts downstream pathways to inhibit cancer cell growth and induce cell death in kidney and other tumor cell lines. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
