Biological Activity

Tyrphostin AG1433 is a selective inhibitor of platelet-derived growth factor receptor β (PDGFRβ) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2). By suppressing receptor tyrosine kinase autophosphorylation, this compound disrupts downstream growth factor-mediated receptor signaling pathways. Consequently, Tyrphostin AG1433 impairs growth factor-stimulated cell proliferation and cell migration, ultimately inhibiting vascular endothelial cell activation and tumor angiogenesis. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
