Biological Activity
TRC(methoxyamine) is a small-molecule inhibitor of the base excision repair (BER) pathway. It acts by covalently binding to reactive aldehyde groups within apurinic/apyrimidinic (AP) sites generated during DNA repair. This interaction disrupts AP site processing by BER enzymes, leading to the accumulation of toxic DNA single- and double-strand breaks that enhance chemotherapy-induced apoptosis in cancer cells. [1]
