Biological Activity

TP-064 is a potent, selective inhibitor of protein arginine methyltransferase 4 (PRMT4, IC50 < 10 nM) with over-fold selectivity over other PRMT family proteins. It reduces arginine dimethylation of cellular PRMT4 substrates, including BAF155 (IC50 = 340 nM) and MED12 (IC50 = 43 nM). Consequently, TP-064 suppresses cell proliferation and promotes G1-phase cell cycle arrest in multiple myeloma cell lines. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
