Tomatidine is a natural steroidal alkaloid that functions as an anti-inflammatory agent by targeting NF-κB and JNK signaling pathways. Inhibition of NF-κB and JNK signaling suppresses downstream pro-inflammatory mediators, including inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2. Furthermore, tomatidine promotes cell survival and cellular quality control by activating autophagy across mammalian cell models and Caenorhabditis elegans.
