Timolol Maleate is a potent, non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist that targets both the β1-adrenergic receptor and β2-adrenergic receptor. By blocking catecholamine binding to these G-protein-coupled receptors, it inhibits adenylyl cyclase activation and downstream cyclic AMP (cAMP) signaling. This inhibition disrupts downstream protein kinase A (PKA) pathway cascades, leading to reduced aqueous humor secretion, decreased intraocular pressure, and attenuated cardiac responsiveness. [1][2]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
