Biological Activity

TGR5 Receptor Agonist is a potent selective agonist of the G-protein-coupled bile acid receptor TGR5 (GPBAR1/M-BAR). Activation of TGR5 stimulates intracellular cAMP accumulation and protein kinase A signaling, promoting glucagon-like peptide-1 secretion and regulating energy metabolism and glucose homeostasis. This receptor activation influences downstream metabolic pathways and inflammatory responses across diverse mammalian cell types and tissues. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
