Biological Activity

Tenatoprazole is a prodrug proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that inhibits gastric H(+),K(+)-ATPase-mediated proton transport with an IC50 of. It covalently binds and selectively labels the gastric H(+),K(+)-ATPase alpha-subunit at approximately 2.6 nM/mg of protein. By inhibiting the enzymatic activity of the gastric proton pump, tenatoprazole disrupts gastric acid secretion and promotes sustained suppression of gastric acid production. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
