Biological Activity

TC-Sis a potent and selective inhibitor of hypoxia-inducible factor 2α (HIF-2α) that targets the PAS-B domain. By allosterically disrupting HIF-2α heterodimerization with ARNT, TC-Sdecreases DNA-binding activity and reduces downstream HIF-2α target gene expression. Pharmacological inhibition of HIF-2α with TC-S 7009 counteracts transcriptional activation, suppresses SLC7A11 expression, elevates reactive oxygen species levels, and promotes ferroptotic cell death in tumor models. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
