Biological Activity

TC-S 7005 is a potent small-molecule inhibitor of Polo-like kinases (Plks), targeting Plk2, Plk3, and Plk1. By targeting Plk family serine/threonine protein kinases, the compound disrupts Plk-mediated signaling pathways involved in cell cycle progression, spindle assembly, and centriole duplication. Consequently, Plk inhibition impairs cell proliferation and alters downstream target phosphorylation, rendering it a valuable tool for investigating Polo-like kinase functions in cellular regulation. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
