SW033291 is a potent, selective inhibitor of 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase (15-PGDH) with an IC50 ofand a Ki of. By inhibiting 15-PGDH, SW033291 blocks the degradation of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), thereby increasing tissue PGE2 levels. This increase in PGE2 promotes tissue regeneration and repair, accelerating hematopoietic recovery following bone marrow transplantation and enhancing liver regeneration. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
