Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that irreversibly inactivates a broad spectrum of bacterial beta-lactamase enzymes. By preventing the enzymatic degradation of beta-lactam antibiotics, sulbactam restores and extends the antibacterial activity of co-administered agents against resistant bacterial strains. It preserves bacterial cell wall synthesis inhibition, protecting partner beta-lactam antibiotics to suppress bacterial growth and overcome beta-lactamase-mediated resistance mechanisms in pathogenic microorganisms. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
