Sudan Black B is a fat-soluble diazo dye and histochemical stain that targets lipids, neutral triglycerides, and lipofuscin. By binding lipidic components, it quenches tissue background autofluorescence, enhancing signal-to-noise resolution in immunofluorescence and in situ hybridization assays. Furthermore, Sudan Black B specifically stains lipofuscin aggregates, serving as a reliable histochemical marker for identifying replicative and stress-induced cellular senescence across cryo-preserved and archival tissues.[1][2]
