Biological Activity
SU056 is a small-molecule inhibitor of Y-box binding protein 1 (YB-1). In ovarian cancer cells, inhibition of YB-1 by SU056 suppresses cell proliferation and induces G1 cell-cycle arrest and apoptosis. Mechanistically, SU056 downregulates spliceosome pathway components while enriching proteins involved in apoptosis and RNA degradation pathways. In animal models, SU056 impairs tumor progression and works synergistically with paclitaxel. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer longer shelf life compared to stock solutions.
