STF-118804 is a highly specific inhibitor of nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT), a key rate-limiting enzyme in the NAD+ salvage pathway. Inhibition of NAMPT leads to intracellular NAD+ depletion, resulting in impairment of ATP synthesis and downstream activation of apoptotic pathways in target cells. Consequently, this target blockade suppresses cellular viability and metabolic function across cancer cell lines reliant on NAD+ salvage biosynthesis. [1]
