SRT-1460 is a potent and selective activator of Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1, EC1.5 =. Activation of SIRT1 by SRT-1460 modulates downstream metabolic and survival pathways, leading to reduced cell viability and growth suppression. In pancreatic cancer cell models, SRT-1460 effectively induces apoptosis, demonstrating its capability to influence sirtuin-regulated signaling cascades and cancer cell survival mechanisms. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
