Biological Activity

SRI-37330 HCl is an orally bioavailable, anti-diabetic small-molecule inhibitor of thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) expression, exhibiting an ICoffor TXNIP mRNA expression in INS-1 cells. By suppressing TXNIP expression and signaling in pancreatic islets, SRI-37330 HCl inhibits alpha-cell glucagon secretion and glucagon action. Downstream, this inhibition decreases hepatic glucose production and effectively reverses hepatic steatosis. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
