Biological Activity

SR18662 is a potent inhibitor of Krüppel-like factor 5 (KLF5), designed as an optimized analog of ML264. By downregulating KLF5 expression and downstream signaling pathways, SR18662 effectively suppresses cell proliferation, reduces cell viability in multiple colorectal cancer cell lines, and promotes apoptotic cell death. These combined molecular effects position SR18662 as a valuable tool for investigating KLF5-driven oncogenic mechanisms and colorectal cancer biology. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
