Sparfloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that targets bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. By inhibiting these key type II topoisomerases, the compound disrupts essential bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and chromosome segregation. This inhibition prevents DNA unwinding, induces double-stranded DNA cleavage, and ultimately leads to potent bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial species.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
