SP2509 is a potent and selective small-molecule inhibitor of lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1). By target-inhibiting LSD1 enzymatic activity, SP2509 effectively modulates histone methylation states, disrupts oncogenic transcriptional networks, and suppresses cancer cell proliferation. Downstream cellular phenotypes resulting from LSD1 inhibition include the induction of apoptosis and the promotion of autophagy in sensitive cancer models.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
