Biological Activity
SN-001 is a small-molecule inhibitor of stimulator of interferon genes (STING) that specifically blocks STING activation and STING-dependent signaling. By binding to the cyclic dinucleotide-binding pocket of STING, it disrupts cytosolic DNA-triggered signaling cascades, decreasing the activation of downstream factors such as IRF3 and NF-kB, and suppressing the production of type I interferons and pro-inflammatory cytokines without causing cellular toxicity. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
