Sisunatovir hydrochloride (RV521 hydrochloride) is an orally bioavailable inhibitor of the respiratory syncytial virus fusion protein (RSV-F) with IC50 values of 1.4 nM for RSV A and 1.0 nM for RSV B. By blocking F protein-mediated membrane fusion, it prevents viral entry into host respiratory epithelial cells, thereby suppressing viral replication and lowering viral load in models of RSV infection.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
