Biological Activity

SGC-GAK-1 is a selective and cell-active inhibitor of cyclin G-associated kinase (GAK) with greater than 50-fold selectivity over adjacent kinases. By inhibiting GAK, it blocks clathrin-mediated endocytosis and regulates intracellular vesicle trafficking pathways. Inhibition of GAK interrupts endocytic cargo transport and disrupts viral entry mechanisms, establishing SGC-GAK-1 as a potent chemical probe for investigating GAK-dependent signaling and cellular functions. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
