SF1670 is a potent and specific inhibitor of the tumor suppressor protein PTEN. By inhibiting PTEN lipid phosphatase activity, SF1670 blocks the dephosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate to phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. This inhibition results in increased intracellular PIP3 accumulation and enhanced downstream activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, modulating key cellular processes such as growth, survival, and metabolic regulation.
