SEW2871 is an orally active, potent, and selective agonist of the sphingosine-1-phosphate type 1 receptor (S1P1) with an EC50 of. Activation of S1P1 by SEW2871 stimulates downstream ERK, AKT, and Rac signaling pathways. Furthermore, SEW2871 induces S1P1 receptor internalization and subsequent recycling to the plasma membrane without affecting other S1P receptor subtypes. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
