Biological Activity

Selnoflast (RO-7486967) is a selective and reversible small-molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 inflammasome. By targeting NLRP3, selnoflast blocks assembly of the inflammasome signaling complex, suppressing downstream processing and secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-In ex vivo whole blood assays stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, selnoflast markedly reduces the production of IL-1β, demonstrating potent cellular anti-inflammatory activity. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
