Biological Activity
SD49-7 is a selective inhibitor of histone lysine-specific demethylase 4 (KDM4) with an ICof. Inhibition of KDM4 by SD49-7 modulates histone H3K9 methylation to suppress MDM2 expression and activate downstream pCIP1 apoptotic signaling. This targeted mechanism impairs self-renewal and cell cycle progression while promoting apoptosis in leukemia stem cells. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).

Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer longer shelf life compared to stock solutions.
