Biological Activity

SC99 is an orally active, selective STAT3 inhibitor that targets the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway. By docking into the ATP-binding pocket of JAK2, SC99 inhibits the phosphorylation of both JAK2 and STAT3 without affecting other kinases associated with STAT3 signaling. Blockade of this signaling cascade suppresses downstream gene expression, resulting in the inhibition of cancer cell proliferation and the induction of apoptosis. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
