SC-43 is a sorafenib derivative that acts as a potent agonist of Src-homology protein tyrosine phosphatase-1 (SHP-1/PTPN6). By enhancing SHP-1 phosphatase activity, SC-43 suppresses STAT3 phosphorylation (p-STAT3) and downregulates downstream oncogenic signaling pathways. This mechanistic action leads to the induction of cell apoptosis, suppression of tumor cell proliferation, and significant attenuation of liver fibrosis in preclinical disease models.
