SB-756050 is a selective agonist of the G-protein-coupled bile acid receptor TGR5 (GPBAR1). Activation of TGR5 by specific agonists stimulates intracellular cAMP accumulation and downstream signaling cascades, promoting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) secretion and modulating glucose homeostasis. Through TGR5 activation, such compounds regulate metabolic pathways involved in energy expenditure and bile acid homeostasis. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
