Salvianolic acid B is a bioactive polyphenolic antioxidant and free radical scavenging compound derived from Salvia miltiorrhiza. It protects cells against oxidative stress, attenuates neurotoxicity, and inhibits apoptosis by suppressing reactive oxygen species generation and regulating apoptotic signaling pathways. Additionally, it modulates key cell proliferation pathways, reducing cell migration and inflammatory signaling in vascular and tissue injury models.
