Biological Activity

S1RA is a selective sigma-1 receptor (σ1R) antagonist with a binding affinity of Ki =for the human σ1 receptor. By selectively inhibiting σ1R, S1RA modulates central sensitization and nociceptive signaling pathways. This target inhibition blocks pain processing and reduces mechanical and thermal hypersensitivity in preclinical models of neuropathic and inflammatory pain. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
