Biological Activity

(S,R,S)-AHPC is a functionalized von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) E3 ubiquitin ligase ligand used as a recruiting motif in proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) synthesis. By binding VHL, it facilitates the recruitment of target proteins to the E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, driving ubiquitin transfer and subsequent proteasomal degradation. Linkage of this ligand to protein-targeting moieties enables selective degradation of oncogenic proteins, including BCR-ABL1 and the androgen receptor.[1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
