RN-1747 is a selective transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 (TRPV4) agonist and a transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) antagonist. Activation of TRPV4 by RN-1747 promotes intracellular calcium influx to modulate thermosensory and vascular signaling. Peripheral activation of TRPV4 via cutaneous application of RN-1747 induces hypothermia, increases tail heat loss through vasodilation, and promotes behavioral warmth-defense responses. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
