Biological Activity

Reversan is a pyrazolopyrimidine-based small-molecule inhibitor of multidrug resistance-associated protein 1 (MRP1) and P-glycoprotein (P-gp). By inhibiting MRP1- and P-gp-mediated active drug efflux, Reversan prevents the extracellular transport of chemotherapeutic agents, thereby increasing intracellular drug accumulation. This enhances drug-induced DNA damage and chemosensitivity to agents such as vincristine and etoposide in tumor cells, significantly reversing multidrug resistance in neuroblastoma and glioblastoma models.[1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
