Rebamipide (OPC-12759) is a cholecystokinin type 1 (CCK1) receptor inhibitor that inhibits [125I]BH-CCK-8S binding with an IC50 of. By modulating CCK1 receptor signaling and mucosal defense pathways, it stimulates endogenous prostaglandin synthesis and scavenges reactive oxygen species. Consequently, these downstream cellular actions promote gastric mucosal protection, reduce inflammatory tissue injury, and accelerate mucosal healing. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
