Biological Activity

Raptinal is a pro-apoptotic compound that promotes mitochondrial cytochrome c release to activate the intrinsic apoptotic pathway. Additionally, Raptinal inhibits caspase-activated Pannexin 1 (PANX1), a transmembrane channel involved in cell death regulation. By triggering mitochondrial cytochrome c release and inhibiting PANX1 channel activity, Raptinal suppresses PANX1-dependent cellular processes, including extracellular ATP release and NLRP3 inflammasome activation, leading to rapid induction of apoptosis.
