Pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid (2-Pyrrolecarboxylic acid) is a naturally occurring metabolic compound that serves as a degradation product of sialic acids and a derivative formed during D-hydroxyproline isomer oxidation by mammalian D-amino acid oxidase (DAAO). Through its involvement in DAAO-mediated enzymatic pathways, it participates in D-amino acid metabolism and amino acid catabolism, influencing cellular metabolic signaling and downstream oxidative biochemical processes. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
