[Pyr1]-Apelin-13 is an endogenous peptide agonist of the APJ receptor (hAPJ) with high binding affinity, predominantly identified in human myocardium and plasma. Activation of the APJ receptor downstream pathway regulates cardiovascular function and enhances cardiac contractility while modulating nociceptive signaling to produce analgesic effects. Consequently, [Pyr1]-Apelin-13 serves as a valuable research tool for investigating heart failure, cardiovascular homeostasis, and neuropathic pain mechanisms. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
