PTC-209 is a potent, selective BMI-1 inhibitor with an IC50 ofin HEK293T cells. By downregulating BMI-1 expression, PTC-209 disrupts polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) function, leading to attenuated self-renewal capacity and irreversible reduction of cancer-initiating cells. Furthermore, PTC-209 suppresses tumor growth and abrogates tumor-initiating potential in colorectal cancer models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
