PT 3 is a benzamide-class, potent, and selective inhibitor of histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3). By selectively blocking HDAC3 activity, it enhances histone acetylation and regulates chromatin remodeling, driving gene transcription programs necessary for synaptic plasticity. PT 3 readily penetrates the blood-brain barrier, resulting in enhanced cognitive function, improved memory consolidation, and augmented performance in novel object recognition behavior. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
