Biological Activity

PSI-6206 (GS-331007) is a nucleoside analog inhibitor targeting the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. Intracellular conversion of PSI-6206 into its active triphosphate metabolite allows it to compete with natural nucleosides during viral RNA synthesis. Incorporation of the metabolite causes premature RNA chain termination, thereby disrupting HCV genomic replication and suppressing viral propagation in host cells. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
