PRX-08066 Maleic acid is a selective 5-HT2B receptor antagonist with an IC50 of 3.4 nM. By inhibiting 5-HT2B receptor signaling, PRX-08066 attenuates serotonin-mediated vascular remodeling and pulmonary arterial vasoconstriction. In vivo, administration of PRX-08066 significantly reduces right ventricular hypertrophy and prevents the progression of monocrotaline-induced pulmonary arterial hypertension in rat models.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
